Autism Acceptance Open Mic Night

Updated: Apr 26, 2022

This Sunday, February 27th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM EST, Lilly Theatre Company will be hosting Autism Awareness Open Mic Night hosting guest speaker, Dr. Rhonda Bernard! It will be held at 8 Fenway Seully Hall on the 4th floor at Berklee Conservatory and live-streamed via our social media accounts. This event is one of many ways to celebrate and lovingly bring awareness about people on the Autism spectrum. We also aim to bring our attention to acceptance! The arts play a significant role in our vision. Music, for example, has direct psychological benefits and encourages people from everywhere to see the love inside of them. Music is the Universal Language, and in the words of Hans Christina Anderson, "Where words fail, music speaks.". Because of this, it is so important for everyone to be able to experience it! This event calls for people to come together with the intention of not only bringing awareness to the people on the Autism spectrum, but making sure they are able to be a part of the most important contribution of humankind—art. We also have many reasons to celebrate together. One being that we received our first sponsor towards musical enrichment for a family with two children on the Autism spectrum! Also, we received our first musical instrument donation to go towards a child in fifth grade from Austin, Texas! Yay! We hope to see you there!
